Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Government Distributes 100,000 Food Aid Packages
The government distributed 100,000 food aid packages to the public through a subsidised market event held at the National Monument (Monas) area in Jakarta on Saturday (28/3). This programme forms part of the government’s efforts to stabilise food prices while assisting the community following Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the subsidised market event serves as an opportunity to share joy with the public after Lebaran, while ensuring the availability of essential needs at affordable prices.
“For a voucher worth Rp 500,000, Rp 300,000 is in the form of basic foodstuffs, while Rp 200,000 can be exchanged for UMKM products,” Teddy said in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
The programme was organised involving various government agencies and state-owned enterprises in the food sector, such as Bulog, ID FOOD, and PT Berdikari, which provided supplies of staple goods and animal proteins to the public. The aid distributed included rice, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, sardines, and other animal protein products to strengthen household food resilience. Distribution took place at five points for basic foodstuffs to visitors attending the event.
In addition to food aid distribution, the subsidised market event was complemented by public entertainment, door prizes of 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric motorbikes, and an open music stage for the wider community, as part of efforts to increase purchasing power and invigorate public economic activity.
This participation forms part of the commitment of relevant agencies to expand public access to essential needs at affordable prices and support the government’s efforts to maintain price stability and public food resilience.
Ultimately, the cross-sector collaboration in this subsidised market event is expected to have a positive impact on price stability, control food inflation, and strengthen community social resilience after Lebaran.
With support from various parties, including groups, the Monas subsidised market programme serves as an example of synergy between the government and SOEs in maintaining national economic stability.
