Multi-layered food safety supervision implemented for Free Nutritious Meal programme in Lumajang
Food safety supervision for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme in Lumajang Regency is being conducted through multiple layers, ranging from the processing stage at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), water and food quality, kitchen environmental cleanliness, and distribution, to the receipt of food by beneficiaries.
Arie Risdiyanti, from the Environmental Health division of the Department of Health, Population Control, and Family Planning (Dinkes-P2KB) of Lumajang Regency, stated on Tuesday that this supervision is part of a collaborative effort by a Task Force Team chaired by the Regional Secretary of Lumajang.
“The leading sector for supervision remains with the Task Force Team chaired by the Regional Secretary. Each regional agency has its own duties and functions according to its authority,” she said.
She noted that supervision of the SPPG continues even after the kitchens are operational and have obtained the Hygiene Sanitation Feasibility Certificate (SLHS), meaning the hygiene and sanitation standards met must be continuously maintained throughout the SPPG’s service delivery.
Consequently, SPPG managers and regional coordinators have received socialisation regarding post-operational and post-SLHS issuance supervision.
