Muklisin's Style of Honesty: Real Work in the Field, Not Just Reports

At 04:00 WIB, while many residents are still asleep, Muklisin is already awake. He prepares to start his daily routine as a public infrastructure and facilities handling officer (PPSU) in the Penjaringan area, North Jakarta. From his home in Tangerang, the 41-year-old man departs at 05:00 WIB to the sub-district office for attendance. An hour later, he is already sweeping the road for about one kilometre in the Jembatan Tiga area. This routine is not new for Muklisin. However, in recent days, his name has suddenly become known to the public. His content is simple, showing the environmental conditions before cleaning and the results after tidying up. There are no excessive effects. No visual fabrication. “Actually, it’s like education. So for reports from the sub-district, it’s via WhatsApp. For social media, it’s my own intention, not under orders,” he said when met by Kompas.com on Monday (13/4/2026). He emphasised that the posts are not part of official work reports, but a personal initiative. The habit of documenting work has actually been done long before going viral. Muklisin admitted to starting uploading cleaning activities around 2014–2015 on Facebook, even before becoming a PPSU. He has worked in the cleaning sector since 2010 while still in the private sector, then joined as PPSU in 2016. He stopped in 2019, returned to duty two years later, and now handles the Penjaringan area.
