Mujiyono Strengthens Electoral District Base Through a Major Consolidation Drive
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Mujiyono, head of the Democratic Party’s DPD for Jakarta, is strengthening the strength of the electoral districts as an initial step to prepare political power for the 2029 political year through a grand consolidation.
“Consolidation does not have to be about discussions alone. Coming together, preserving unity and togetherness also constitutes consolidation. Moreover, this is being done during Ramadan, so we might as well break the fast together,” Mujiyono said at Gedung Gorga 2, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, on Saturday.
Mujiyono described the Ramadan breaking of the fast with the large family of Rumah Aspirasi Mujiyono (RAM) as an occasion to strengthen togetherness while also reinforcing internal party consolidation ahead of upcoming political agendas.
According to the Secretary of Commission A of the Jakarta DKI Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), the maintained cordial relations (silaturahmi) are a crucial foundation for building organizational power and solidarity within the community.
Furthermore, Mujiyono noted that this activity is also part of an early step to prepare political strength toward the 2029 political year.
However, for now, they are focusing on reforming the organisation at the electoral district level (dapil).
According to Mujiyono, internal preparations have been ongoing from early on. To date, his team has prepared more than 1,000 poll observers (saksi TPS) in Dapil 5 East Jakarta, designated to safeguard the democratic process in the field.
“As of today we have prepared more than 1,000 TPS observers out of 3,000 witnesses for Dapil 5 East Jakarta. In addition, there are 872 regional coordinator teams and team coordinators who continue to maintain solidarity,” Mujiyono explained.
Nevertheless, that number is still far from the target to be achieved ahead of 2029.
Mujiyono said they target at least around 9,000 personnel from the network of volunteers and witnesses across East Jakarta who form their dapil base.
On the other hand, social activities are also being intensified by the Jakarta Democrats’ ranks. Similar Ramadan breaking-of-fast events were organised by the Democratic family at various Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) across Jakarta.
The agenda forms part of a comprehensive consolidation effort carried out by the party’s structures down to the grassroots level.
Even before Ramadan, the party had launched the Demokrat Jakarta Sambut Ramadhan programme, focusing on social activities within communities.
The programme was realised through limited-scale improvements to places of worship, such as painting mushola walls, repairing water taps for wudhu, and repairing parts of buildings that sustained light damage.
Mujiyono emphasised that the activities are conducted simply and simultaneously across all areas of Jakarta, grounded in a spirit of service to the people.
“We do not need to calculate electoral prospects. What matters is sincerely helping the people. God willing, this will be good deed and bring benefits to the people,” Mujiyono said.
The event held at Gedung Gorga 2, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, also included the distribution of alms and Ramadan hampers to RAM members and volunteers.
The event, carrying the theme “Nurturing Silaturahmi, Preserving Togetherness”, was interpreted as an effort to strengthen bonds of kinship and solidarity and to cultivate and maintain the militancy of the RAM family and volunteers.
