MUI Deputy Chair: Trump is the Greatest and Most Savage Bandit of This Century
Iran’s National Security Council confirmed the death of Ayatollah Khamenei on Saturday, 28 February 2026, in the early morning hours at his office “whilst performing his duties.” Local government media also reported that the Iranian leader’s daughter, son-in-law, and a grandson were killed in the military operation carried out by the United States and Israel.
The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has condemned the actions of the US and Israel, which it described as barbaric. MUI Deputy Chair Buya Anwar Abbas reminded the public that this was not the first time US President Donald Trump had acted arbitrarily towards foreign leaders whom he deemed opposed to Washington’s wishes and those of its closest Zionist ally.
“Using the economic, political, and technological power of his nation, Donald Trump has captured and killed the top leaders of other countries unwilling to follow his orders. Previously, Maduro, the President of Venezuela, was kidnapped and flown to his country for detention. Now, Ali Khamenei has been killed by him,” Buya Anwar told Republika on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
He also lamented the apparent helplessness of world institutions in the face of American arbitrariness. Furthermore, Buya Anwar continued, even the United Nations appears to have lost its authority and is no longer able to maintain international security.
“Xi Jinping of China and Putin of Russia are also powerless to act. Indeed, it is not inconceivable that their names have also been added to the list of world leaders who will be ‘Madurofied’ or ‘Khamenei-fied,’” said the Chair of the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah.
Although the American public appears to have decreasing sympathy for Israel, as evidenced by recent surveys, Washington seems indifferent. Under the pretext of protecting the existence of the Zionist entity in the Middle East, Trump continues to deploy his nation’s military in the unilateral operation targeting Iran to this day.
“Observing Trump’s conduct and behaviour, which has caused considerable damage recently, we can conclude that Trump has successfully established himself as the greatest and most savage bandit of this century,” said Buya Anwar.
