Muhammadiyah Tanwir 2026 in Palu to Discuss Long-Term Programmes
Palu (ANTARA) - The Muhammadiyah Tanwir is scheduled to be held in the city of Palu, Central Sulawesi, in November 2026, serving as a forum for the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah to design the organisation’s long-term programmes for the next 25 years.
The Chairman of the Central Sulawesi Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, Muh Amin Parakkasi, stated during a press conference in Palu on Sunday that the agenda places the implementation of the Tanwir in Palu in a strategic position for the organisation’s development.
He explained that the Tanwir is a Muhammadiyah consultative assembly held below the level of the Muktamar. The forum will bring together Tanwir members from various regions across Indonesia to discuss several strategic organisational agendas.
In addition to drafting long-term programmes, the 2026 Muhammadiyah Tanwir will also serve as part of the preparations for the Muktamar, which is to be held the following year.
“Everything will be discussed here, including the preparation agenda for the Muktamar, which includes the formation of the election committee, election regulations, and the Muktamar’s code of conduct,” said Amin.
The Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah has invited all Tanwir members from across Indonesia to attend in Palu from 19–21 November 2026. The event will be centred at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu complex.
“The Central Sulawesi Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership has been entrusted to host this major event for the first time,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Tanwir Committee, Prof Rajindra, stated that preparations for the venue have reached approximately 98 per cent.
“The main arena at the Universitas Muhammadiyah (Unismuh) Palu building has a capacity of around 1,000 people, while the number of core participants is expected to reach 500 to 600 people. The overall event will be held within the university campus area,” said Rajindra, who is also the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu.
