JAKARTA — The Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah has conveyed its condolences over the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the Iranian people affected by attacks from the United States and Israel.

Muhammadiyah also expressed condolences for victims of Iran’s retaliatory strikes in Arab countries.

“We express our sympathy and condolences over the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other victims targeted by attacks from the United States and Israel on the Islamic Republic of Iran. We offer the same condolences for victims of Iran’s retaliatory strikes in several Arab countries,” stated Muhammadiyah Central Leadership in a written statement released on Monday, 2 March 2026.

“We strongly condemn these attacks and view them as violations of human rights, international law, and disregard for United Nations resolutions,” wrote Muhammadiyah.

“We urge the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to immediately take steps to end the genocide against the Palestinian people, as well as all forms of violence and to prevent the escalation of tensions between nations in the Middle East region,” said Muhammadiyah.

Muhammadiyah also appealed to all parties to foster peace and global justice, and condemned all forms of arbitrary actions that cause destruction and the ruin of civilisation.
