The Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer for the Muhammadiyah congregation at Sempur Field in Bogor City, West Java, featured Ustaz Deni Lubis as the speaker. In his sermon, he reminded the congregation about the importance of Muslim unity. He cited the attacks launched against Iran by the United States and Israel as an example. He expressed regret that the Islamic countries surrounding Iran did not provide assistance. “Neighbouring Muslim countries, instead of helping their brother, are helping the enemy of Islam. Meanwhile, no OIC country is helping the weak one,” he said on Friday (20/3/2026). According to him, the holy book Al-Quran has warned about the dangers of division. The strength of the divided Muslim ummah could weaken. In addition, during this year’s Ramadan moment, he invited the attending congregation not only to build spiritual strength. But also other strengths such as knowledge, economy, and defence. “Not only spiritual, but we must build strength in knowledge, economy, and defence, so that the ummah is not easily weakened by other powers,” he stated. Ustaz Deni also gave examples of nations that do not have abundant natural resources but have surged to become advanced countries. Besides natural wealth, he reminded about the importance of human quality. “The progress of a nation is not only determined by natural wealth, but also by human quality and the ability to manage existing potential,” he explained. As is known, Muhammadiyah, through the Central Leadership’s Statement Number 2/MLM/I.0/E/2025 on the Determination of Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 Hijriah Calculations, set Eid al-Fitr 2026 on 20 March. Meanwhile, the government set Eid al-Fitr on the following day.
