Muhammadiyah and Saudi Ambassador Discuss Hajj 2026 Security in Jakarta
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Muhammadiyah leaders met with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, at the Saudi Embassy Office to support the security of the 2026 Hajj implementation.
“Muhammadiyah supports the guarantee of security for this year’s Hajj implementation,” said the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, M. Sa’ad Ibrahim, after the meeting on Monday (6/4/2026).
Muhammadiyah believes that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is capable of ensuring the Hajj pilgrimage, he said during the meeting which was also attended by the Chairman of LPHU PP Muhammadiyah, M. Ziyad, and the Secretary of LPHU PP Muhammadiyah, Marjuki Al Jawiy. Sa’ad also expressed his hope that this year’s Hajj implementation would run smoothly.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Faisal stated that Muhammadiyah and Saudi Arabia have a very close and ongoing relationship in various sectors, especially educational cooperation.
Regarding the Hajj, the Saudi Ambassador reaffirmed that the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage will proceed safely and as planned despite the geopolitical tensions engulfing the Middle East region.
“Alhamdulillah, preparations for the 2026 Hajj implementation are still on schedule and, Insya Allah, there will be no other changes. Alhamdulillah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains safe and stable,” he said.
