Mugging-prone area: West Jakarta Forkopimko to install CCTV at several locations
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Kota (Forkopimko) Jakarta Barat will install kamera pengawas (CCTV) at several vulnerable points following a rise in mugging cases in the area.
‘The first point is the provision of CCTV at vulnerable points. It will be prepared independently, or we will appeal to all components of entities in West Jakarta to jointly strengthen CCTV security in their respective areas such as buildings, offices, places of business, etc.,’ said West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah in Jakarta on Friday.
She will officially issue an advisory letter to agencies or business premises in the Jakbar area regarding CCTV installation.
‘We will draft an advisory letter as an implementation of the directive from the Governor of DKI Jakarta to strengthen focus on security in the area,’ said Iin.
The next point of agreement is synergy among the TNI, Polri, the Jakbar City Government and the community to maintain area security.
‘Dwith joint activities for Siskamling (Sistem Keamanan Lingkungan),’ Iin said.
Third, she said, is the agreement to create a positive narrative in social media and mass media.
‘Provide a good message to the public to live calmly and comfortably, because we will ensure all of us, four-pillar government, to jointly cooperate to realise city security,’ she added.
Meanwhile, Metro Jakarta Barat Police Chief Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi added that they have intensified several measures to maintain area security.
‘Activities have been carried out previously related to preventive, preemptive, and law enforcement efforts. Up to now, even last night activities such as patrolling and raids have been carried out together with the four pillars,’ Twedi said.
He also urged the public to maintain the communication chain if there are security disturbances in the area.
‘Don’t forget, we in Polri have the 110 Presisi service. It can be contacted if there is a need for the public to inquire or urgently require assistance,’ he concluded.
