The expansion of the contraflow to three lanes is part of anticipatory measures taken in collaboration with the police to maintain smooth traffic flow towards East Trans Java. Karawang (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) has added a contraflow lane (counterflow) on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road section following the increasing density of traffic on that toll road stretch on H-2 Lebaran or Thursday afternoon. VP Corporate Secretary & Legal JTT Ria Marlinda Paallo stated in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday, that the company supports the police’s discretion by adjusting traffic engineering in the form of expanding the contraflow lane from the previous two lanes to three lanes. The expansion of the contraflow lane from the initial two lanes to three lanes was applied starting from KM 48 to KM 66 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, on Thursday afternoon at 12:21 WIB. She said that the adjustment of the number of contraflow lanes was carried out situationally, taking into account the on-site traffic conditions. “The expansion of the contraflow to three lanes is part of the anticipatory measures taken together with the police to maintain smooth traffic flow towards East Trans Java, especially today where an increase in public mobility is evident ahead of Eid,” she said. JTT urges all road users to always drive carefully, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and follow the directions of on-site officers and installed traffic signs. Road users are also expected to ensure sufficient balance on their electronic money cards and prepare the condition of their vehicles and drivers before travelling so that the journey remains safe and comfortable to the destination.
