Mudik Traffic Increases, JJC Implements Alternating Access on MBZ Elevated Toll Road Towards Cikampek
PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek or JJC, as the operator of the Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Elevated Toll Road section, is implementing situational alternating access entry towards Cikampek at the discretion of the police. This step is taken in response to the increasing volume of Lebaran mudik vehicles passing through. “The implementation of this traffic engineering is due to the high volume of vehicles on the MBZ Elevated Toll Road section,” stated GM of Operations and Maintenance at JJC, Desti Anggraeni, on Thursday (19/3/2026). Additionally, there have been reports of several vehicle disruptions, such as overheating, running out of fuel (BBM), flat tyres, and other vehicle issues. This engineering also aims to ease the traffic density occurring at the KM 48 exit access of the MBZ Elevated Toll Road section, which is the convergence point for traffic flows from the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. JJC advises road users traversing the MBZ Elevated Toll Road to always prioritise safety during their journey. Road users are expected to ensure that the driver’s condition and vehicle are in prime condition, maintain sufficient battery power and fuel, and anticipate potential weather changes, such as rain that can affect visibility and road surface conditions.
