Jakarta — The Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) officially opened the 2026 Eid Transportation Central Command Post (1447 H) at the Ministry of Transport headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026). Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the command post serves as a gathering point for all stakeholders to coordinate and prepare for the Eid homecoming and return journey operations to ensure safe, comfortable, and secure travel.

“This command post is national in scope, so we will cover all Indonesian regions during the Eid mudik period, from 13 March to 30 March,” said Dudy during the opening of the 2026 Eid Transportation Central Command Post at the Transport Ministry headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026).

Dudy explained that the command post’s primary objective is to ensure coordination, collaboration, and synergy between government agencies. This approach enables rapid and appropriate handling of any problems that arise in the field. He also invited media representatives to use the command post as an official information source so that the public receives accurate news and avoids misinformation that could mislead travellers.

“We hope that our media colleagues, when needing information related to Eid transportation operations, can obtain it here so it can be disseminated to the public who are travelling,” said Dudy.

In this coordination effort, Dudy stated, various parties are involved, including the Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), state-owned enterprises such as Jasa Marga and Jasa Raharja, and transport operators such as the State Ferry Company (ASDP) which handles critical crossing points such as Merak and Ketapang. Dudy requested that all parties prepare for the potential surge in public mobility during the mudik period.

“Information from various parties is important in preparing for contingencies should something unexpected occur,” said Dudy.
