Mudik Passengers Selfie with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Ends with KAI Director Taking the Photo
Jakarta — The visit of Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya to inspect the Lebaran exodus operations at Pasar Senen Station in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, drew considerable attention from departing passengers.
Women, men, and children took turns requesting photographs and selfies with the Cabinet Secretary as he inspected the station’s waiting area. Accompanied by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Director Bobby Rasyidin, the Cabinet Secretary also had conversations with several passengers.
“Where are you heading?” Teddy greeted two siblings who were queuing for a photograph with him.
“To Central Java,” they replied.
The Cabinet Secretary then approached some women to ask about their experience waiting in the station’s facilities.
Whilst Teddy was conversing with one woman, a man holding his young daughter’s hand suddenly raised his smartphone to request permission for a selfie together. Teddy nodded in agreement and asked the man and his child to move closer.
The man promptly picked up his daughter and prepared to pose with the Cabinet Secretary for a selfie.
“Just have someone take a photo instead,” Teddy said, signalling to the KAI personnel around them to take the photograph.
“Surely the Director shouldn’t be the one taking it?” he remarked.
However, Bobby Rasyidin was already prepared to operate the man’s smartphone camera.
After capturing the moment twice, the smartphone was returned to the man and his daughter.
