Mudik passengers praise service and security at Bakauheni Port
South Lampung (ANTARA) — Several passengers heading home at Bakauheni Port in Lampung expressed satisfaction with the service and security provided by port officials during the 2026 Lebaran holiday exodus.
One prospective ferry passenger, Ridho, conveyed his appreciation for the service and security measures during his journey from South Sumatra to the port. “This year, I felt quite satisfied with the security and service on the road, as there were friendly officers at every rest area providing directions,” he said.
According to him, passengers were not only satisfied during the journey but also with the prompt service upon arrival at Bakauheni Port. “The port process was fast, and officers immediately directed us to the parking zones to wait to board the ferry,” he said.
Similarly, Rusli Gunawan, a passenger from Bengkulu, noted that the facilities provided at the port area were very comprehensive, ranging from rest areas to excellent service from staff members.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Partogi Tamba, stated that the company had prepared various strategies to provide services and prevent traffic congestion at the entrance to Bakauheni Strait Ferry Port in Lampung.
“To anticipate passenger congestion or traffic jams at the port area, we have optimised several parking zones or buffer zones, including rest area KM 49B, KM 20B, and non-toll points such as Gayam Agribusiness Terminal, Gunung Jati restaurant, RM Tiga Saudara, and the Old Quarantine Office,” he said.
He emphasised that ASDP Bakauheni branch had deployed staff at designated buffer points to provide the best service to prospective passengers. “We urge service users to purchase tickets before arriving at the port. Currently, capacity is more than sufficient and measured through our digital system,” he said.
According to him, ferry tickets can now only be purchased online through the Ferizy application and website, with a maximum booking period of 60 days before the departure date. “There are no more ticket sales at the port area. Ensure you have a ticket before departing and arrive at the port according to the schedule stated on your ticket to avoid queues or service delays,” he said.
