Banyuwangi — The Eid 2026 Transportation Command Post has recorded a significant surge in the number of travellers crossing from Bali to Java on the sixth day before the holiday. A total of 80,416 people made the journey, marking a substantial increase of 33.8% compared to the same period last year, which recorded just 60,099 passengers.

Beyond passenger numbers, the volume of vehicles crossing also rose considerably. Two-wheeled motorcycles totalled 18,306 units, up 52.7% from 11,987 units in the corresponding period last year.

Four-wheeled vehicles also experienced growth of 9.2%, with a total of 5,044 units crossing, compared to 4,620 units during the same period last year.

Overall, the total number of vehicles crossing from Bali to Java reached 25,885 units, an increase of 35.4% compared to last year’s figure of 19,122 units.

These figures demonstrate a substantial surge in homebound travel ahead of the 2026 Eid celebrations, reflecting increased mobility among both passengers and vehicles.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry continues to monitor and manage cross-strait traffic operations to ensure smooth travel for homebound passengers returning to their hometowns.
