Mudik Insurance Launched Amid Eid Holiday Mobility Surge
JAKARTA — The surge in public mobility during the Eid holiday mudik (homecoming) period has driven demand for protection against various travel risks and security concerns for homes left vacant during the celebration.
To capitalise on this opportunity, Asuransi Jasindo has introduced a Mudik Insurance Programme designed as a protective solution for citizens travelling to their hometowns during the Eid holiday break.
Brellian Gema Widayana, Corporate Secretary at Asuransi Jasindo, stated that the mudik period is consistently marked by significant increases in public mobility, necessitating risk protection measures. “The mudik period is always accompanied by quite substantial increases in public mobility,” Brellian said during Asuransi Jasindo’s media gathering for the breaking of the Ramadan fast on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
“Through this Mudik Insurance Programme, Asuransi Jasindo wishes to provide peace of mind and security for citizens travelling to their hometowns, whilst simultaneously offering protection for homes left unoccupied,” he added.
According to Brellian, the programme is a personal accident insurance product that provides primary coverage against accident risks up to IDR 100 million. Protection applies throughout the mudik journey, whether using private vehicles or public transport.
The programme is offered at relatively affordable premiums, starting from IDR 10,000. In addition to personal accident coverage, the programme includes several supplementary benefits. “The programme is equipped with supplementary benefits such as home burglary protection, ambulance allowance, and evacuation costs in the event of an accident,” said Brellian.
Protection encompasses home burglary insurance with compensation value up to IDR 7.5 million, and home fire insurance with compensation value up to IDR 50 million. Additionally, evacuation cost allowance is available, covering medical evacuation to more adequate healthcare facilities through to body repatriation costs, each with a maximum value of IDR 1.5 million.
The programme also provides ambulance allowance following an accident up to IDR 1.5 million.
Through this programme, Brellian hopes that the public can undertake their mudik journey with greater peace of mind without worrying about leaving their homes unoccupied during the Eid holiday period.
“We observe that the public’s protection needs continue to evolve, including during periods of high mobility such as the Eid mudik,” said Brellian. “Through this Mudik Insurance Programme, Asuransi Jasindo endeavours to present protection solutions relevant to people’s lives, whilst simultaneously strengthening the company’s role in expanding access to insurance protection for the public,” he concluded.
