The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has outlined the chain of command given by Muara Enim Regent Edison to employees at the Education and Culture Department (Disdikbud) in the bribery case that has ensnared him. The KPK revealed that Regent Edison ordered the Secretary of the Muara Enim Regency Disdikbud, Abi Nurwardani (ABN), to create bank accounts under the names of third parties or nominees from a number of local government employees to hold bribe money.

“Edison, as the Regent of Muara Enim, ordered ABN to disguise the flow of funds from contractors. The parties used a method of opening and closing nominee accounts or through cash deposits from contractors within the Muara Enim Regency Government,” said KPK Director of Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein during a press conference at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Taufik explained that Abi subsequently allegedly became the operator of these nominee accounts. Furthermore, Abi also distributed the proceeds from the smart board procurement bribery to several parties, including Regent Edison.

“Regarding these nominee accounts, ABN acted as the account controller. ABN is suspected of distributing the flow of money,” Taufik clarified.

Taufik also explained that Abi received bribe money from the marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi (MSA), suspect Cory Erin Hardi (CRH). PT MSA is the smart board supplier to PT My Icon Technology (MIT), which secured the procurement project at the Muara Enim Regency Government’s Disdikbud for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

“ABN, as the Secretary of the Education and Culture Department, received cash amounting to Rp 500 million from CRH. This receipt from the private party is suspected to be related to previous procurements,” Taufik stated.

Taufik said the money was given by Cory to Abi to ‘maintain good relations going forward’. The hope was that the cooperation between PT MSA and the Muara Enim Regency Government could continue to run smoothly.

“Behind this payment, there was an intent and purpose, so that the private party could maintain ‘good relations going forward’ with the regional government, enabling them to win future regional projects again,” he added.

The four parties who have been named as suspects in this case are:

  1. Muara Enim Regent - Edison

  2. Secretary of the Education and Culture Department for 2026 - Abi Nurwardani

  3. The Regent’s nephew - Adi Triyadi

  4. Marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi - Cory Erin Hardi

The KPK has charged Edison and Abi under Article 12 letter a and/or Article 12 letter b and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption.

Meanwhile, Cory, as a private party, has been charged under Article 605 letter a and/or Article 605 letter b of Law Number 1 of 2026.
