Muara Enim Regent Arrives at KPK Red and White Building

The Regent of Muara Enim, H. Edison, arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Red and White Building following a sting operation (OTT) conducted on 7-8 June. Edison arrived at approximately 08:51 WIB. Escorted by KPK officers and police personnel, he did not respond to questions from members of the media and proceeded directly to the second floor of the KPK building for further interrogation.

In addition to Edison, several other individuals apprehended during the operation have also arrived at the KPK office. The KPK arrested nine other people during the undercover operation carried out in Jakarta and South Sumatra on 7-8 June 2026. Five of those arrested are from the Muara Enim Regency Government, including the Regent, while the remaining five are from the private sector. The KPK enforcement team also seized hundreds of millions of rupiah during the sting operation.

The KPK conducted a case review on Monday (8/6) evening. Based on the sufficiency of the preliminary evidence obtained, the KPK has decided to escalate the case from the investigation stage to the full criminal investigation stage. “This is to subsequently designate the parties involved as suspects,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday (9/6).
