Muara Enim Immigration Deports Two Pakistani Nationals for Residence Permit Misuse

The Muara Enim Class II Non-TPI Immigration Office in South Sumatra has deported two Pakistani nationals suspected of misusing residence permit documents in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency. Head of the Muara Enim Immigration Office, Ragil Putra Dewa, stated on Friday that the two foreign nationals bear the initials MUA (30) and MF (28). “Both are suspected of providing false information to obtain a Limited Stay Visa (VITAS) and a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) as investors in Indonesia,” Ragil said. He explained that the immigration surveillance team discovered indications of residence permit document misuse during a monitoring operation in OKU Regency. In the immigration documents, MUA was listed as the Director of PT MGani with an investment claim of 5,000 US dollars. Meanwhile, MF was listed as a marketing staff member with a claimed fixed income of 700 US dollars per month. “They admitted they did not know the procedures for establishing an investment company and did not understand their duties and responsibilities as company management,” Ragil stated. Officers then traced the company data and confirmed that PT MGani had no operational activities in OKU Regency. According to Ragil, the two foreign nationals eventually admitted they came to Baturaja City, OKU Regency, solely for tourism. For their actions, the two Pakistani nationals were charged under Article 123 letter a of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration. Before being repatriated to their home country via Jakarta, both were placed in an immigration safe house. “In addition to being deported, both have also been placed on a blacklist so they cannot re-enter Indonesian territory in accordance with immigration regulations,” Ragil said.
