Muara Enim Follow-up Sting Suspect Claims BPK Leaders Received Bribes

A suspect from a follow-up sting operation in Muara Enim, the Head of the Audit Team for the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative Office of South Sumatra, Titin Rita Lestari, has stated that it was the BPK leadership who accepted bribes, not her. “My superiors, in a hierarchical structure,” Titin said at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday. She further stated that she was merely an executor and therefore did not receive a single penny from the alleged corruption case. “I did not receive any money. This is unfair. I am just an executor,” she said. Earlier, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested 10 people in a sting operation conducted from 7 to 8 June 2026. Five people were arrested in Jakarta and five others in South Sumatra. Among the 10 people detained in the KPK’s 12th sting operation of 2026 was Muara Enim Regent Edison. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a bribery case related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The four suspects are Edison; Abi Nurwardani, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office; Cory Erin Hardi, a marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi; and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew. On 10 June 2026, the KPK conducted a follow-up sting operation and arrested five state civil servants from the BPK RI, marking the KPK’s 13th sting operation of 2026. On 11 June 2026, the BPK South Sumatra Representative Office’s Head of Audit Team, Titin Rita Lestari, and a private party named Augus Dwianggara were confirmed by the KPK as suspects for alleged bribery in manipulating the BPK’s audit findings on the Muara Enim Regency Government.
