Muara Enim Bribery Case: KPK Traces Other Recipients at BPK

The KPK is tracing the flow of money related to the alleged bribery case from Muara Enim Regent Edison to parties within the BPK. The anti-graft body will check where the money flowed. “Regarding the potential development of the case, we will see how the investigation of this matter progresses, including whether there is still a role for other parties,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (11/6/2026). “Including the question of the flow of funds, whether it only stopped with these suspects or flowed back to other parties,” he added. Budi stated that investigators will not stop at the existing suspects. He said the flow of money will continue to be traced. “Certainly, investigators are not stopping at this point. The KPK will continue to track and trace wherever the alleged flow of funds may have gone,” he stated. Previously, the KPK named four people as suspects in the alleged bribery of a BPK official. One of them is Muara Enim Regent, Edison. “Based on sufficient and valid preliminary evidence, the KPK has subsequently named four people as suspects,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo. “Correct (one of them is Regent Edison). Two people are suspected givers and two others are suspected recipients,” Budi continued. The four suspects in this case are: 1. Edison, as Muara Enim Regent; 2. Abi Nurwardani, as Secretary of the Education and Culture Office in 2026; 3. Titin, as a civil servant at the BPK; 4. Angga, as a private sector party. This case is still connected to allegations of bribery from private parties to Edison. Regent Edison allegedly received a bribe of Rp 500 million.
