Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf (Mualem) stated that infrastructure recovery in Aceh following the major disaster in November 2025 has only reached approximately 25 to 30 percent so far. Mualem explained that many infrastructure needs remain unmet across several regions in Aceh, from bridges to educational facilities. “Infrastructure is still lacking, bridges are still lacking. Schools and others as well. Only about 30 percent has been met. 25 to 30 percent,” Mualem said at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Monday (25/5). Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) and Chairman of the Sumatra Disaster Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR) Tito Karnavian stated that the disaster recovery in Sumatra is targeted to be completed within three years. He explained that the government has agreed to allocate a budget of Rp100.166 trillion over the three-year period. “The total budget we proposed has been approved at the government level, and we reported it to the DPR RI Task Force chaired by Prof Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, and we’re grateful for the support. The amount is Rp100.166 trillion over three years,” Tito said. He detailed that the budget would be allocated annually: Rp38.9 trillion in 2026, Rp32.9 trillion in 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028. Tito said the total budget of Rp100.166 trillion would be distributed among the respective ministries and agencies involved in Sumatra’s disaster recovery. “Infrastructure is the largest portion, under the Ministry of Public Works. That totals approximately Rp69 trillion over three years, with Rp22 trillion this year. We also hope for the permanent housing (huntap) from the Ministry of PKP amounting to Rp7.4 trillion over two years,” Tito said.
