'MTV' VJ Shanty's fishy story
JAKARTA: Singer and MTV Video Jockey (VJ) Annisaa Nurul Shanty
had nightmares before she did a photo shoot for MTV Asia's coffee
table book titled Brave the Heat.
After learning from organizers that the theme for the shoot
was diving, the 24-year-old Indonesian brought along all her
swimsuits.
"The first question they asked me was if I was afraid of
diving, and I said no. Then they asked if I was afraid of sharks,
and that's when I really started to wonder what this was all
about," said Shanty, who was in Surabaya, East Java, when the
call from MTV came.
"I had nightmares when they told me that I was to dive into
the shark pool at SeaWorld in Singapore. I begged them not to
make me swim there," she said during the book launch here. In the
end, the shark pool scene was dropped and Shanty's photo shoot
took place on Singapore's Sentosa Island.
"What a relief! And I've never been to Sentosa so I was really
excited," Shanty said in her usual frank way of speaking.
