MSME Transactions Reach Rp404.5 Billion in First Quarter of 2026
The achievements of the UMKM BISA Export programme in the first quarter of 2026 demonstrate that our MSME actors possess increasingly strong competitiveness in the international market.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) reports that the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Bold Innovation, Ready to Adapt Export (UMKM BISA) programme generated transactions of up to 23.60 million US dollars or Rp404.5 billion in the first quarter of 2026.
Trade Minister Budi Santoso emphasised that this achievement reflects the effectiveness of the government’s strategy in encouraging MSMEs to penetrate international markets. This increase is driven by increasingly intensive business matchmaking that connects MSMEs with global buyers in a more targeted manner.
“This achievement of UMKM BISA Export in the first quarter of 2026 shows that our MSME actors have increasingly strong competitiveness in the international market. Kemendag will continue to expand market access, strengthen promotion, and ensure that MSMEs receive appropriate guidance to enable them to sustain themselves in the export market,” said Budi in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
The Directorate General of National Export Development (Ditjen PEN) of Kemendag recorded that the first quarter 2026 achievement is a combination of potential transactions through memoranda of understanding (MoU) worth 19.64 million US dollars and purchase orders (PO) worth 3.96 million US dollars.
From the buyer side, the UMKM BISA Export Programme successfully reached various countries such as Japan, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, and Canada, as well as regions in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The sectors of interest include processed seafood and fisheries, home decor and furniture, health and body care, spices, food and beverages, agricultural and plantation products, fashion, cosmetics, cocoa, paper, coconut products, herbal products, and plasticware items.
Director General of PEN at Kemendag, Fajarini Puntodewi, added that UMKM BISA Export is designed as an integrated ecosystem to continuously expand market reach while improving product curation quality.
“We not only connect MSMEs with buyers but also ensure product readiness, quality, and production capacity so that they can consistently meet global market demands,” said Puntodewi.
