MSME Registration Now Available Online via Smartphone
Registration for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) can now be completed online via smartphone. In addition, the processing of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and business permits can also be done online. Previously, residents had to visit district offices or relevant agencies in person, but the process can now be completed from home or anywhere.
The Ministry of Investment/BKPM has launched a risk-based business licensing system through the Online Single Submission (OSS) platform. Through this system, MSME operators can obtain business legality quickly and practically. The initiative forms part of the government's efforts to promote digitalisation and enhance the competitiveness of the MSME sector in Indonesia.
The steps to register an MSME online via smartphone to obtain a NIB and business permit are as follows:
1. Open the official OSS website at https://oss.go.id through a mobile browser.
2. Create an OSS account using a Population Identification Number (NIK) that corresponds with national identity card data.
3. Log in to the account.
