Jakarta (ANTARA) — Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Maman Abdurrahman said that 51 per cent of the People’s Business Credit (KUR) disbursed up to 24 August 2026 was channelled to women entrepreneurs.

“The success of a financing policy is not only measured by how much financing is disbursed, but also by how effectively that financing enables MSMEs to grow, become more resilient, and move up to a higher level of development,” said Maman, quoted from a ministry press release in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that as of 24 August 2026, KUR disbursement had reached Rp201 trillion to 3.1 million debtors. Of that amount, 51 per cent of the disbursement was allocated to women entrepreneurs.

Maman conveyed this at the APEC MSME Ministerial Meeting, or the 32nd APEC SME Ministerial Meeting, in Guangzhou, China, on Friday, while explaining Indonesia’s commitment to expanding inclusive financing access for MSMEs.

He added that the government is transforming the Membina Ekonomi Keluarga Sejahtera (Mekaar) scheme to make financing for women more affordable, with the Mekaar financing rate targeted to fall from around 20–25 per cent to 8 per cent starting this year.

Meanwhile, in 2025, KUR disbursement reached Rp286 trillion to 4.5 million MSMEs.

According to Maman, for the first time in ten years, the proportion of KUR channelled to the productive sector reached 60.5 per cent, including for agriculture, fisheries, and manufacturing.

Beyond strengthening financing, he said the government is reinforcing the entrepreneurship ecosystem through PRO-KESRA Produktif, which is directed at supporting the target of 10 million people running businesses and working through integrated services across ministries and agencies.

The development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem is also supported by Presidential Regulation Number 38 of 2026 on National Entrepreneurship Development, which sets a target for Indonesia’s entrepreneurship ratio to reach 8 per cent by 2045.

“Through these various initiatives, Indonesia is not only strengthening MSMEs at the national level, but also contributing to the APEC agenda of building MSMEs that are more inclusive, innovative, digital, resilient, and connected to regional and global markets,” he said.
