MSIG Life’s Share Free Float Still Well Below 15%, Chief Executive Says
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT MSIG Life Insurance Indonesia Tbk (LIFE) has commented on the requirement for listed companies to maintain a 15% share free float. President Director Wianto Chen said the issue is currently attracting attention, particularly among capital-market participants.
He said the company would comply with the requirement set by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), with a deadline of 31 March 2027.
“As a public company, we are fully committed to meeting the requirements set by the Indonesia Stock Exchange, particularly by 31 March. We will meet that requirement,” Wianto said at MSIG Life’s public expose at Sinar Mas Land Plaza in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (27 October 2026).
The insurer is discussing possible ways to reach the 15% free-float threshold with relevant parties. However, Wianto acknowledged that no final decision had been made.
“We are currently discussing and considering various alternatives and options with our shareholders. They are under review, but no decision has been made as of today; the process is still under review,” he said.
Wianto stressed that MSIG Life would inform the regulator and the media once a decision had been reached.
“Once the review process is complete, we will inform our media colleagues. That is what we are doing now. We are confident we will meet the deadline,” he said.
LIFE’s current share free float is 7.5%, exactly half the newly stipulated minimum.
