PT MSIG Life Insurance Indonesia Tbk (MSIG Life) has demonstrated its commitment to providing financial protection to its customers. Throughout the first half of 2026, the company paid health and death claims totalling Rp 545 billion.

The total payout comprised health claims of Rp 433.4 billion and death claims of Rp 111.8 billion. Internal company data shows a trend that warrants attention, with 55% of death claims in the individual customer category occurring during productive age, namely between 25 and 59 years.

In detail, the age distribution of death claims includes 2% for those under 25 years, 13% for those aged 25 to 44 years, and 42% for those aged 45 to 59 years. Meanwhile, the remaining 43% came from the 60 years and above age group.

Director & Chief Operating & IT Officer of MSIG Life, Elly Susanti, emphasised that the speed and certainty of claim payments are the company’s top priorities, especially when a family loses its main breadwinner.

“We fulfil that promise today through claim payments, and we maintain it for the long term through a strong financial foundation. This is reflected in MSIG Life’s Risk Based Capital (RBC) ratio, which reached 1,382%, far above the OJK minimum requirement of 120%,” said Elly in an official statement on Thursday (20/8).

One of the benefit realisations was experienced by the family of the late Marilyn Wijaya, an MSIG Life customer through Bank Sinarmas since May 2023. Her heir, Ho Gek Bie, received benefits amounting to Rp 1.27 billion from the Simas Income Protection and Simas Pension Plan products.

“This insurance benefit has greatly helped us maintain family financial stability without having to draw on other savings. I very much appreciate the responsive and straightforward claims process,” said Ho Gek Bie.

As a long-term protection solution, MSIG Life offers the Smile Wealth Protection (SMART) product. This product includes a Premium Waiver benefit, whereby premium payments will be continued by the company if the insured dies during the payment period. In addition, there is a Staged Benefit of up to 175% of the Guaranteed Fund that is still paid according to plan.

Beneficiaries are also entitled to a death benefit of 110% of the total Basic Premium. If death is caused by an accident, an additional benefit of 110% of the total Basic Premium is available, with a maximum value of up to Rp 2 billion.

“We are committed to paying every valid claim in accordance with policy provisions and strengthening our position as a trusted partner for Indonesian families,” Elly concluded.

The entire process, from member registration, payment of Tabarru’ Fund contributions or mutual assistance funds, to uploading claim documents, can be done via mobile phone.

The smoothness of the insurance claim process depends heavily on the customer’s understanding of the policy contents and compliance with all applicable provisions.
