General insurance company PT MSIG Indonesia (MSIG Indonesia) is monitoring several factors that could impact investment performance this year. President Director Tomosuke Tsuruoka cited potential financial market volatility and shifts in future interest rate policies as key concerns.

“Additionally, exchange rate fluctuations could affect bond market performance and other financial instruments,” he told Kontan on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Therefore, MSIG Indonesia’s investment management will remain prudent, prioritising caution, disciplined risk management, and a focus on long-term performance sustainability.

“We are also continuously monitoring market momentum to achieve an optimal balance of returns and liquidity,” he added.

Tsuruoka also noted that the benchmark interest rate hike to 5.25% could positively impact the company’s investment returns, particularly through higher deposit rates and bond yields offering more attractive returns for new fund placements.

According to the company’s financial report on its official website, MSIG Indonesia recorded total investments of Rp1.86 trillion as of April 2026. The largest allocation was in Government Securities (SBN) worth Rp1.14 trillion, or 61.29%, followed by fixed-term deposits of Rp615.73 billion, accounting for 32.80%.
