PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has stated that the construction cost for Phase 2A of the North-South Line is Rp25.3 trillion, funded through a loan cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and Japan. Phase 2A of the North-South Line will connect Bundaran HI Station to Kota Station, spanning approximately 5.8 kilometres and comprising seven underground stations: Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota. This phase is divided into two segments. Segment one, from Bundaran HI to Harmoni, is targeted for completion by the end of 2027, while segment two, from Harmoni to Kota, is targeted for completion by the end of 2029. The development of Phase 2A continues to show significant progress. As of 25 July 2026, construction had reached 62.68% against a target of 61.92%. For contract package CP201, progress has reached 93.90% against a target of 93.89%. At Thamrin Station, the construction team has entered stages including the reinstatement of pedestrian areas around the station site, the reconstruction of the Transjakarta bus stop, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations, as well as roofing and finishing works for entrances 5, 7, and 8. At Monas Station, the team is continuing interior work and access to entrance 2, reinstatement of the north side station box, and conducting system acceptance tests and partial acceptance tests. Significant progress has also been made on contract package CP202, which covers the construction of tunnels and the Harmoni, Sawah Besar, and Mangga Besar stations, now reaching 68.00%. The completion of this contract package, a civil construction milestone in Indonesia featuring a four-level underground station and tunnels, is being accelerated. As of July 2026, Tunnel Boring Machine 1 has broken through the south side of Mangga Besar Station, connecting the northbound tunnel from Bundaran HI to Kota. For contract package CP203, progress has reached 86.85%, with works at Kota and Glodok stations, including pipe and cable installation, plastering and painting, ACP wall panel installation, and other architectural works, still ongoing.
