MRT Phase 2A Protection Works, Kota Station Traffic Management Engineered for 6–9 March
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT MRT Jakarta (Persero) will implement traffic engineering around Kota Station from 6–9 March 2026 to support construction work for the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A project.
Corporate Secretary Division Head PT MRT Jakarta (Persero) Rendy Primartantyo said the works are part of construction package CP205 which covers the development of rail system.
‘The works include track installation, signalling system, and electrical networks on the stretch from Bundaran HI Station to Kota Station,’ Rendy said in a statement on Friday (6/3/2026).
The works to be carried out include lowering of forklifts, table generators and welding equipment, as well as Flash Butt Welding (FBW) machines and generators that will be used for the rail welding process in the next phase.
‘The lowering of such equipment will be carried out at night, from 22:00 to 04:00 WIB,’ he said.
During the activities two lanes on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan near Bank Jakarta will be temporarily closed, from the northbound turning at the intersection to the south and up to in front of the Blue International Building.
Because road capacity is limited, a open-close traffic system will be applied so vehicles from two directions can pass alternately.
Meanwhile, from 04:00 to 22:00 WIB, traffic arrangements on Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan will be normal.
The road can still be used by Transjakarta buses, residents’ vehicles, and motorcycles from south to north or vice versa.
Nevertheless, small vehicles are advised to use alternative routes via Jalan Pinangsia and Jalan Pancoran to avoid congestion.
‘TPT MRT Jakarta together with Sojitz Corporation as the contractor also prepared a number of safety measures at the work site, such as installing traffic signs, road markings, and street lighting,’ said Rendy.
