MRT Jakarta to begin operations earlier to support JAKIM 2026
PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) is adjusting its operational hours to begin earlier in support of public mobility and participants of the Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM) 2026, which will take place along several main thoroughfares on Sunday, 14 June. “MRT Jakarta is ready to support the smooth running of the Jakarta International Marathon 2026 by providing earlier services, so that participants and the public can travel comfortably using public transport,” said PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Director of Operations and Maintenance, Mega Tarigan, in Jakarta on Friday. This adjustment is in line with the Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency Number e-0091 of 2026 concerning the Provision of Railway Services to Support the Jakarta International Marathon Event. On that Sunday, MRT Jakarta will begin operations earlier, with services from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM Western Indonesia Time at 20-minute intervals, and from 5:00 AM to midnight at 10-minute intervals. The first train departures on Sunday, 14 June 2026, are as follows: From Blok M BCA Station to Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station at 4:05 AM; From Lebak Bulus BSI Station to Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station at 4:07 AM; From Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station to Lebak Bulus BSI Station at 4:08 AM. In addition to the operational hour adjustments, MRT Jakarta is also supporting the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s policy regarding public transport services during the Jakarta International Marathon 2026. As a form of support for the event, specifically on Sunday, MRT Jakarta will provide free travel for runners holding a Barcode Identitas Bersama (BIB), in accordance with applicable regulations. This service adjustment represents MRT Jakarta’s support for the hosting of an international-scale event while ensuring the public retains access to reliable, safe, and comfortable public transport during the activity. MRT Jakarta urges all service users to maintain order, follow staff directions, and prioritise mutual safety and comfort during the Jakarta International Marathon 2026.
