MRT Jakarta Plans Integration of Monas and Gambir Stations

PT MRT Jakarta is coordinating with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to prepare the integration of the MRT Monas station with Gambir station in order to improve intermodal transport connectivity in DKI Jakarta.

The integration plan is designed to connect the MRT Monas station on the western side with Gambir station on the eastern side of the National Monument area, in line with the ongoing revitalisation of Gambir station.

“We have already met with KAI management to prepare the planning for the connection between Monas station and Gambir station. The design of the link is still in the development stage,” said MRT Jakarta Construction Director Weni Maulina, as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Thursday, 23 July 2026.

Beyond refining the physical connectivity design, MRT Jakarta is also preparing an operational governance scheme for the stations along the corridor.

Maintenance of Monas and Thamrin stations will later be managed directly by PT MRT Jakarta under the coordination of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to ensure the reliability of public facilities.

PT MRT Jakarta is targeting the completion and full operation of Monas and Thamrin stations under the CP 201 package of Phase 2A by the end of 2027.

She said the physical construction progress of CP 201, which links the Bundaran HI area to Monas, has now reached 92 to 93 per cent.

“For CP 201, we are at 92, heading towards 93 per cent. God willing, it will be completed at the end of 2027 and be operational by the end of 2027,” she said.

She explained that current work is focused on finishing the station interiors, covering mechanical-electrical installation, architectural work, and the final finishing stage.

Regarding the work amid global economic dynamics and the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate, Weni assured that the CP 201 project budget, estimated at Rp4.1 trillion, remains secure and in line with the initial contract value.
