PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has confirmed it is ensuring travel safety on the route between Stasiun Senayan Mastercard and Stasiun ASEAN Headquarters by continuously optimising the signalling system. The statement follows an incident in which a train braked suddenly while travelling uphill towards Stasiun ASEAN Headquarters some time ago. “The MRT Jakarta signalling system is equipped with various safety features designed to ensure every journey proceeds safely,” said PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Rendy Primartantyo in Jakarta on Friday (3/7). Rendy stated that MRT Jakarta, together with relevant parties, is currently conducting inspections, monitoring, and comprehensive handling to ensure the signalling system can return to optimal function on that section. Alongside these efforts, MRT Jakarta is continuously optimising the system to improve service reliability and customer comfort. “We understand that this condition may affect the comfort of our customers’ journeys. Therefore, MRT Jakarta is striving to resolve the matter as quickly as possible and will provide updates through official communication channels as soon as new information is available,” he said. MRT Jakarta also apologised for the inconvenience experienced by customers regarding travel on the Senayan Mastercard–ASEAN Headquarters station route, whether conveyed through the Contact Center or social media. “We appreciate the understanding and trust the public has placed in MRT Jakarta,” he added. Via social media platform X, several customers had complained about a train braking suddenly while travelling uphill towards Stasiun ASEAN Headquarters. Additionally, the platform screen doors at Blok M station were reported to have closed too quickly before passengers could board.
