PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has introduced public transport service standards to the finalists of the Abang None North Jakarta pageant through a ‘Station Attendant for a Day’ programme. Frangky Ertanto, Head of the Stakeholder Relationship Department at PT MRT Jakarta, stated that the initiative aims to instil a culture of orderliness in public spaces whilst involving the younger generation in campaigning for the use of public transport. ‘Today we welcomed the finalists of Abang None North Jakarta. This is one of MRT Jakarta’s initiatives to involve the community, especially various community components, in building a public transport culture,’ he said in Jakarta on Friday. He explained that Abang None finalists represent young people who can help disseminate the values of orderliness when in public spaces, including when using public transport. In addition to receiving a briefing on the company profile and MRT Jakarta services, the finalists also participated in the Station Attendant for a Day programme to experience station operations first-hand. Through this experience, the finalists were introduced to MRT Jakarta’s service standards, ranging from customer service to the implementation of orderly, safe, and comfortable conduct within the station environment. ‘The concept of public transport is sustainability. The younger generation will be the future users of public transport modes, so it is important to instil an understanding of the importance of using public transport and the values of behaviour in public spaces from now on,’ he said. Frangky further conveyed that the activity is part of MRT Jakarta’s collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, which has been ongoing since 2023. In addition to providing briefing materials, MRT Jakarta regularly involves the finalists in various activation activities at stations. This year, he said, MRT Jakarta added the Station Attendant for a Day programme so that participants gain direct experience of service operations for users. Frangky expressed hope that the finalists can become a bridge of information to the public about the importance of creating a public transport experience that is orderly, safe, and comfortable. ‘We hope they will help spread the message to the public that when in public spaces, we can create a public transport experience that is orderly, comfortable, and safe for everyone,’ he said.
