PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has temporarily closed several access points at Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station and Dukuh Atas BNI Station on Friday (12/6) following an increase in crowd density due to a protest in the area. “In connection with the increased density around the Dukuh Atas BNI Station and Bundaran HI Bank Jakarta Station areas, station access has been adjusted,” said Acting Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Franky Ertanto, as reported by Antara on Friday (12/6).

Despite the temporary closure of some access points, Franky confirmed that MRT Jakarta train services continue to operate normally. Passengers are advised to use other available entrances and exits at both stations and to follow the instructions of officers on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Metro Jaya Regional Police stated that the sterilisation of the Bundaran HI area from protest activities was based on technical assessments and social impact analysis. The area is considered a vital national economic object and an international hotel centre whose stability must be maintained. The police referred to DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 232 of 2015 and Law No. 9 of 1998 in regulating public order. As an alternative, protesters were directed to three official locations: Silang Selatan Monas, Parkir Timur Senayan, and the DPR/MPR RI Democracy Forum.
