Mrs. Tien Soeharto receives Rp 5b

JAKARTA: First Lady Tien Soeharto, in her capacity as
chairperson of the Gotong Royong Kemanusiaan charity foundation,
on Saturday received Rp 5.05 billion ($2.4 million) from a group
of 16 local wealthy entrepreneurs grouped in the Prasetya Mulya
Group.

Sudono Salim, the wealthiest of them all, personally handed
over the check to Mrs. Tien Soeharto at her Jl. Cendana
residence.

Since its founding in 1986, the foundation has channeled Rp
24.3 billion in funds for various charity causes, including
helping victims of natural disasters.

The 16 contributors are Sudono Salim, Sudwikatmono, Sukmawati
Widjaja, Benny Subianto, Jusran, Ismail Sofwan, Suradi
Wongsohartono, Ciputra, Soekrisman, Rina Ciputra, Ninie
Admadjaja, Murdaya Widyawimarta, Markus Permadi, The Ning King,
Dato Seri Burhan Uray and Sudjono. (emb)
