MQ Iswara: Kodam III Siliwangi's Long History with West Java People
BANDUNG – West Java Regional House of Representatives Deputy Speaker MQ Iswara stated that Kodam III Siliwangi is not merely a military institution in West Java and Banten. Instead, its presence has become intertwined with the local community, particularly in West Java.
“For us West Java residents, Kodam III Siliwangi is not just a military institution. It has truly merged with us, with our society and historical background,” he said after attending the 80th anniversary celebration of Kodam III Siliwangi at Graha Manggala Siliwangi in Bandung on Friday, 22 May 2026.
He explained that the Kodam’s slogan is “West Java’s people are Siliwangi, and Siliwangi is West Java’s people”. To him, this is more than just a slogan.
“In daily practice, Siliwangi is always present – whether as an institution, its command, or its soldiers – among the community,” he added. He stressed that the people and Kodam III Siliwangi are united and embedded in the hearts of the people.
