MPR's Four Pillars Quiz in Bali Sees SMKN 1 Amlapura Crowned Champion

Ketua Badan Sosialisasi MPR RI Abraham Liyanto opened the Four Pillars Quiz (LCC Empat Pilar) MPR RI at the Bali Sunset Road Convention Center in Denpasar on Saturday. The activity is part of the MPR RI’s efforts to strengthen the younger generation’s understanding of national values through a closer approach to students. In his remarks, he explained that the implementation of the Four Pillars Quiz is part of the mandate of Law Number 17 of 2014 and the MPR RI’s Standing Orders, which task the MPR Socialisation Body with disseminating the Four Pillars to the public, including the younger generation. ‘The approach through competition is considered effective in reaching students. Based on a survey by Litbang Kompas, the delivery of national material through competitions is more easily accepted by the younger generation compared to conventional socialisation methods,’ he said in a written statement on Sunday. He stated that the younger generation is not merely the successor but the owner of the nation’s future. According to 2025 data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), around 110 million Indonesians, or 38.9 percent, are in the 15 to 40 age range. He noted that the demographic bonus towards Golden Indonesia 2045 lies in the hands of today’s young generation. Therefore, participants are encouraged to view the Four Pillars Quiz not just as an arena for achieving victory, but also as a means to strengthen brotherhood, broaden national insight, and foster love for the homeland. He also encouraged the younger generation to use social media to introduce the values of the Four Pillars to their peers and expressed hope that the government would provide appreciation to the winners through scholarships or other forms of recognition. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Education, Youth, and Sports for Bali Province, I Made Arbawa, appreciated the organisation of the Four Pillars Quiz, calling it an educational space for national values for students amidst the challenges of the digital era and globalisation. According to him, understanding Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is an important foundation for the younger generation to excel not only academically but also in character, integrity, and love for the nation. The Bali Provincial Level Four Pillars Quiz was attended by nine senior high schools, vocational schools, and their equivalents from various regencies and cities. After three preliminary rounds and one final round, SMKN 1 Amlapura won first place with a score of 145, followed by SMAN 1 Negara in second place with 90 points and SMAN 1 Kuta Utara in third place with 80 points. As a result, SMKN 1 Amlapura earned the right to represent Bali Province at the National Final of the Four Pillars Quiz in Jakarta. A member of the SMKN 1 Amlapura team, Ni Putu Restiasi, said the success was the result of intensive coaching since April. Meanwhile, accompanying teacher I Gede Subrata stated that preparations for the national level would focus on deepening material substance so that students understand the meaning of each material, not just memorising articles or regulations. ‘We want the children to understand the meaning of each material so they can answer various types of questions given. We hope to give the best results for the school and make Bali proud at the national level,’ he concluded.
