Hectic discussions on the future chairman of the People's
Consultative Assembly/House of Representatives (MPR/DPR) make
people feel dissatisfied, because contrary to past elections,
candidates for the seat have been earmarked this year.

The names most quoted are Harmoko, Syarwan Hamid, etc. There
is the possibility a hitherto unknown person will be chosen, but
it is likely that the institutions will be chaired by a person
from the victorious sociopolitical organization.

As a layman, I can only hope that whoever becomes chairman,
will listen to the people's heartfelt aspirations. They should
have an open attitude and respond to the people's voice. It is
also important they do not overlook the quality of the house
members.
