JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) has confirmed that all judges will be replaced for the retrial of the Final Quiz Competition (LCC) on the Four Pillars at the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) provincial level, following the scoring controversy that occurred in the final round.

“Yes, in terms of implementation, it will certainly be carried out by the MPR General Secretariat, but all the judges involved will be independent individuals who were not part of the previous process. That is, there will be no elements from the MPR General Secretariat,” said Muzani during a press conference at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).

However, all the judges who will serve are assured to come from independent elements and were not involved in the previous implementation.

MPR RI General Secretary Siti Fauziah added that the judges for the retrial will come from academic circles and related agencies.

“Academic elements. Agency elements, academics, that’s what we will take,” said Siti Fauziah.

“The Quiz Competition at the West Kalimantan level, the final of which we will retrial at a time that will be decided as soon as possible,” said Muzani.

According to him, the decision was taken after the MPR leadership heard an explanation from the MPR General Secretary regarding the controversy that occurred in the Four Pillars LCC final in Kalbar.

The controversy began when the West Kalimantan level Four Pillars LCC final was held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5/2026), attended by nine senior high schools in West Kalimantan.

The three schools that advanced to the final round were SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, and SMAN 1 Sanggau.

The issue arose during the answer buzzer session with a question about the institution whose considerations must be taken into account by the DPR in selecting BPK members.

Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak was the first participant to answer.

“Members of the Financial Audit Agency are selected by the House of Representatives while considering the input from the Regional Representative Council and are inaugurated by the President,” said a female student from Team C.

However, the panel of judges instead deducted five points from Team C. The question was then passed to another team and answered by Team B from SMAN 1 Sambas.

“Members of the Financial Audit Agency are selected by the House of Representatives while considering the input from the Regional Representative Council and are inaugurated by the President,” answered the participant from Team B.

The judges then declared Team B’s answer correct.
