MPR submits PPHN draft to Prabowo

The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) leadership has submitted the draft of the State Policy Guidelines (PPHN) to President Prabowo Subianto during a meeting at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Monday. MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani stated that the submission of the PPHN draft was one of the main agendas in the intensive meeting with President Prabowo. “On this occasion, we submitted the concept to the President of the Republic of Indonesia and discussed with him several matters relating to the State Policy Guidelines,” Muzani said during a press statement at the Presidential Office. According to Muzani, President Prabowo in principle supports the PPHN as a national development guideline that applies across administrations, not just for one leadership period. “The President in principle leaves it to the People’s Consultative Assembly to make the State Policy Guidelines a cross-administration guideline,” he said. The draft will subsequently be discussed through the MPR’s mechanisms before being adopted as a cross-administration national development guideline. He expressed hope that the PPHN discussions would produce a sustainable national development direction and serve as a long-term reference for governance.
