MPR Strengthens National Values in Youth Through LKBB-PB Competition
Deputy for Administration of the MPR Secretariat General, Heri Herawan, officially opened the 2026 Central Java Provincial Level Marching and Flag-Raising Creativity Competition (LKBB-PB). Heri Herawan expressed pride in being among the participants. “The organisation of this activity is intended to provide understanding and reinforcement of the nation’s noble values to the younger generation as the nation’s successors,” he said in a written statement on Saturday (13/6/2026).
The nation recently commemorated the historic anniversary of Pancasila’s birth on 1 June. According to Heri Herawan, the nation’s noble values are contained within Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state, which serves as a guide in social, national, and state life. “The values contained within it provide an understanding of divinity, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice,” he said.
Heri Herawan added that the noble values of Pancasila are strongly reflected in the character of national heroes, such as courage, willingness to sacrifice, selflessness, and prioritising national unity and integrity. “The exemplary conduct of so many national heroes from Central Java can be a source of inspiration for the younger generation to contribute to regional and national development. This example also shows how the heroes implemented and safeguarded the nation’s noble values,” he explained.
To continue fostering and instilling these noble values in society, especially among the youth, Heri Herawan stated that the MPR, as a state institution, has the duty to socialise Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. He said the MPR has a strategic and crucial role in safeguarding the constitution, including the implementation of its values in social, national, and state life.
“In safeguarding the constitution and preserving national culture and the spirit of nationalism, the MPR has an obligation to provide understanding and instil the values contained in the constitution to the public, especially the younger generation. Therefore, the MPR RI organises Youth Nationalism Strengthening activities through various types of events, including the Marching and Flag-Raising Creativity Competition,” he said.
Heri Herawan expressed hope that the LKBB-PB activity could serve as new motivation, particularly for the younger generation, to safeguard, implement, and develop the nation’s noble values. “It is hoped that the younger generation can actively participate in strengthening the nation’s foundation, maintaining national integrity, and building a better Indonesia in the future amidst the global challenges we face both now and in the future, towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” he hoped.
Heri Herawan also hoped participants would uphold sportsmanship, maintain the good name of their schools, PPI, and the MPR RI, and bring honour to the province at the national level. The opening of the activity was marked by the striking of a gong and the handing over of a trophy to the LKBB-PB committee during the opening ceremony held at the SMKN 7 Semarang field, Central Java.
The Central Java Provincial Level LKBB-PB, held in the context of strengthening youth nationalism, was attended by 10 schools from various districts in Central Java, namely SMA Negeri 1 Purwodadi, Grobogan Regency; SMA Negeri 1 Pati; SMA Negeri 1 Purbalingga; SMA Negeri 2 Kota Magelang; SMA Negeri 1 Kendal; SMK Negeri 2 Karanganyar; SMK Negeri 1 Kedungwuni, Pekalongan Regency; SMA Negeri 13 Semarang; SMA Negeri 2 Bae, Kudus Regency; and SMA Negeri 1 Wonosegoro, Boyolali Regency.
The first-place winner of the Central Java Provincial Level LKBB-PB, a collaboration between the MPR RI, Purna Paskibraka Indonesia (PPI), and the Central Java Education Office, will represent Central Java Province at the national level LKBB-PB in Jakarta in August 2026, coinciding with Constitution Day. For information, Central Java was the national level champion last year (2025).
