MPR Speaker Inspects Land Movement Disaster Site in Padasari, Tegal

MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani inspected the site of a land movement disaster in Padasari Village, Tegal. Muzani directly observed the condition of houses and public facilities damaged by the natural phenomenon.

Based on observations at the location, Muzani and his entourage arrived on Monday afternoon (16/2/2025). He conducted the inspection alongside Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Romo HR Muhammad Syafi'i, several members of the DPR RI, the Tegal Regency Government, and representatives from relevant ministries and agencies.

Upon arrival, the entourage proceeded directly to the residential area affected by the land movement. At the site, the collapse of residents' homes and severely damaged road surfaces were clearly visible.

There was no longer any activity at the location as all residents had been evacuated to displacement shelters. The area remains classified as a red zone for the disaster. However, some residents were occasionally seen returning to their homes to retrieve belongings or tend to their fields.

The land movement began at the location on Monday (2/2). The phenomenon was caused by heavy rainfall that had been falling over several preceding days.

M Wisnu Imam, head of the Disaster Management Task Force at the Tegal Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), explained that 104 houses were damaged as a result of the disaster.

The number of affected residents totalled 150 households or 470 individuals. The affected settlements in Padasari Village were located across RW 02, RT 6, 7, 8, 9 in RW 03; RT 12, 13, 14, and 15 in RW 04; RT 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18; Tigasari hamlet RW 02 RT 03 and 04; and Padareka hamlet RW 01 RT 1, 2, and 3.

"The provisional total is 104 damaged houses. The incident began on Sunday and the ground continued to move; by Monday it was already severe," said M Wisnu Imam.

As a result of the disaster, a number of village infrastructure elements were damaged, including three sections of village and regency roads, one irrigation weir, and one village bridge. A prayer hall was also affected.

Educational facilities damaged included SDN Padasari 01, SMA Al Adalah, Ponpes Al Adalah, PAUD Al-Muna Padasari, MI Padasari, and MDTA Nurul Atfal. The Polindes Padasari healthcare facility was also impacted.
