MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani Reaffirms Indonesia's Support for Palestine

The Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence were held on Friday, 14 August 2026 at the Nusantara Building, MPR/DPR/DPD Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.

Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani delivered the opening address for the 2026 MPR Annual Session, stating that Pancasila is the greatest common ground ever achieved by the nation.

Commemorating the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, Muzani said that Indonesia has succeeded in building infrastructure, establishing educational centres, improving health services, developing industry, strengthening industry and agriculture, improving welfare and reducing poverty.

In the framework of improving the welfare of the Indonesian people, the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) serves as a means of advancing the intellectual life of the nation towards Indonesia Emas 2045 and building a healthy and high-quality Indonesia. Likewise, the Red-and-White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP) aim to realise democracy in economic life.

On the other hand, Ahmad Muzani also affirmed Indonesia’s support for Palestine and called for world peace and an end to war in any part of the world.
