Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Siti Fauziah stated that the plan to hold a rematch of the Four Pillars quiz competition final in West Kalimantan will still be discussed by the MPR leadership. Siti could not yet confirm the continuation of the plan after one of the competition participants, SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, rejected the rematch.

“It will be discussed at the leadership meeting on Monday (next week). Because the rematch was decided at the leadership meeting,” said Siti when contacted on Friday, 15 May 2026.

Through a post on the Instagram account @smansaptk.informasi, the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, Indang Maryati, stated that she respects and supports the LCC results which designated SMA Negeri 1 Sambas as the representative of West Kalimantan in the national-level LCC.

Indang continued that SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak also conveyed an apology for the commotion that occurred, and invited all parties to resolve this issue with a spirit of togetherness, mutual respect, and upholding the values of unity.

She stated that SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak never intended from the start to annul the competition results, but solely to obtain clarity through clarification of the disputed points. What SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak did, Indang explained, was a step taken as part of efforts to obtain confirmation and clarification for the realisation of a transparent, objective, and accountable competition implementation and mechanism.

Indang emphasised that her school never aimed to attack or undermine the credibility of the institution, organisers, or certain individuals in this LCC competition. Therefore, she requested all parties to create a conducive, safe, and comfortable educational climate for everyone in the future.

“SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak conveys appreciation and thanks for the attention, support, and care of various parties in responding to this situation,” said Indang.

Previously, MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani stated that his institution would hold a rematch of the Four Pillars LCC final in West Kalimantan. “The judging panel for the LCC will consist of independent judges,” said Muzani at the Nusantara III Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The MPR LCC in West Kalimantan sparked controversy when the judging panel did not provide fair scoring to two teams of participants in the final match on 9 May. The incident began when three final participants, namely SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, and SMA Negeri 1 Sanggau, competed to answer the question: “In selecting BPK members, the DPR is obliged to consider input from which institution?”

Team C from SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak answered first by saying that BPK members are selected by the DPR taking into account DPD considerations and inaugurated by the President.

The judging panel deemed that answer less accurate and gave a minus 5 score. The same question was then thrown back to the forum, and Team B, namely SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, took the opportunity by answering that BPK members are selected by the DPR taking into account DPD considerations and inaugurated by the President.

The judging panel decided that answer was correct and awarded SMA Negeri 1 Sambas 10 points. This was then protested by participants from SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak who had given the same answer first. However, the judging panel reasoned that SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak did not mention the words “DPD considerations”. That reason was refuted by the Team C participants.

One of the judging panel members, Indri Wahyuni, highlighted the importance of accuracy in participants’ articulation when delivering answers. Indri Wahyuni serves as Head of the Secretariat of the MPR Socialisation Agency. “Articulation is important. The judging panel assesses based on what is clearly heard. If it is not heard clearly, the judges have the right to deduct points,” said Indri.
