MPR Secretary General: Quiz Competition Judges Impartial, Issue Lies with Sound System
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah, has dismissed speculations that the judges of the Four Pillars Quiz Competition 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level favoured one school due to a scoring error in the final round. The issue during the competition was purely a technical matter. “Oh no, no. That doesn’t exist. We always try to ensure the judges have no bias at all, none, so what’s stated is clear there is no (bias),” said MPR RI Secretary General Siti Fauziah in Jakarta on Wednesday. According to Siti, the controversy that occurred in the provincial final round in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5) was due to a technical error. The judging panel was reportedly hindered by sounds from the participants’ direction, leading to a scoring mistake. “Indeed, there are some things that I might not elaborate further because there are some rules that ultimately might be technical constraints with sound and so on,” she stated. The MPR is committed to conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the competition’s organisation. The provincial final round for the Four Pillars Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan has been decided to be repeated this month.
