MPR Secretariat General Ensures Optimal Preparations for 2026 Annual Session
The Secretariat General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) has confirmed that all preparations for the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD), scheduled for Friday, 14 August, are proceeding in a mature, coordinated, and optimal manner.
Deputy for Administration at the MPR Secretariat General, Heri Herawan, stated that this year’s Annual Session prioritises synergy and close collaboration between state institutions. “For the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, all work units within the MPR Secretariat General have carried out thorough preparations,” Heri said at the parliament complex in Jakarta on Thursday.
From a trial and substance perspective, he noted that the MPR has completed the draft event rundown, including the speech by the MPR Speaker, attendance registration for MPR members, and seating arrangements for all MPR members according to their factions and groups. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Studies Bureau has prepared the draft and proposal for the President’s speech regarding the performance report of state institutions, which is routinely delivered by the President during the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session.
He also stated that protocol scenarios and seating arrangements for VVIP/VIP guests have been prepared by the Secretariat Bureau for the Leadership, covering the arrival flow for the President and Vice President, as well as seating for the Diplomatic Corps and ambassadors of friendly nations, former Presidents and Vice Presidents, former leaders of the MPR, DPR, and DPD, and heads of state institutions. “This also includes preparations for the group photo session,” he said.
The MPR Secretariat has also readied comprehensive health facilities, including ensuring that catering management for VVIP and VIP guests runs smoothly. A special Mini ICU for the President has been prepared by the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital, while a Mini ICU for the Vice President and former Presidents and Vice Presidents has been prepared by Harapan Kita Hospital. He expressed hope that the entire state agenda would not merely be an annual formality, but a moment to demonstrate professionalism.
