MPR Secretariat Deactivates Judging Panel and MC in West Kalimantan Four Pillars LCC
The Secretariat General (Setjen) of the MPR RI has deactivated the judging panel and master of ceremonies (MC) for the Four Pillars MPR RI Smart Quiz Competition (LCC) 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level due to controversy over a scoring error. “Regarding the widespread media social reports… on the assessment of participants’ answers in one of the competition sessions, the organising committee from the MPR RI Secretariat General has deactivated the judging panel and MC for this LCC event,” stated the MPR RI Secretariat General in a statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday. The MPR RI Secretariat General expressed apologies and acknowledged the judging panel’s negligence in the final round held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5). Therefore, the MPR RI will conduct a thorough evaluation of all technical aspects of the competition, including the scoring mechanism, participant answer verification system, and complaint management procedures. “To ensure future implementations are even better, transparent, and accountable.” In addition, the MPR RI conveyed appreciation to all participants, accompanying teachers, local committees, and the public who continue to pay attention to national education and the implementation of the Four Pillars LCC. “Public input will serve as important evaluation material to maintain the quality of the event and public trust in the inclusive, educational, and integrity-driven process of national learning,” the statement concluded. Previously, three senior high schools (SMA) competed in the final round of the MPR RI Four Pillars LCC at the West Kalimantan provincial level in Pontianak, namely SMA Negeri 1 Pontianak, SMA Negeri 1 Sambas, and SMA Negeri 1 Sanggau. Recently, the competition has been widely discussed on social media due to a scoring error during the buzzer round question session. Netizens highlighted the judging panel’s response to participants’ objections. As witnessed from the competition video aired on the MPRGOID YouTube channel, the scoring error stemmed from the question: “In selecting BPK members, the DPR is required to consider input from which institution?” Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak answered, “Members of the Financial Audit Agency are selected by the People’s Representative Council, taking into account the consideration of the Regional Representative Council and officialised by the President.” The judges then deducted five points for Team C’s answer. The same question was then posed to the other team. The judges subsequently stated that Team B’s answer was correct. “Yes, the core of the answer is correct. Score ten,” said the judging panel head, Dyastasita W.B., Head of the Assessment Bureau of the MPR RI Secretariat General. Team C then raised an objection to the judging panel’s assessment. “Judging panel, permission, earlier we answered the same as Team B. The same,” said the team representative. In response, Dyastasita said, “Earlier for Team C, yes, the consideration from the DPD was not mentioned. The DPR was mentioned earlier.” “It was there,” replied the student from Team C. “Earlier I said like this, members of the Financial Audit Agency are selected by the People’s Representative Council, taking into account the consideration of the Regional Representative Council and officialised by the President,” she repeated the previous answer. “The judging panel thought there was no Regional Representative Council mentioned,” Dyastasita interjected. “Sir, sorry, perhaps could you also look at views from others? Maybe from the audience, is there anyone who heard me say DPD?” the Team C student replied again. “I think the decision is with the judging panel, yes,” Dyastasita said. Before the MC proceeded to the next question, another judge, Indri Wahyuni, Head of the Secretariat Section of the MPR RI Socialisation Board, provided additional response. “Like this, yes, it was warned from the beginning, right, articulation is important. So, get used to answering with clear articulation, yes. If you think it’s already, but the judging panel assesses that it’s not, because they didn’t hear your articulation clearly, yes, that means the judging panel has the right to give a minus five score,” Indri said.
